[전시안내] 박정일 - Conical Pendulum 원추진자展

작가 노트

나는 관념론적인 아름다움보다 다양한 과학적 방법과 도구를 이용한 직관적인 미를 사진으로 표현 하고 싶어 한다. 구심력이 작용하는 원추진자의 초기상태로부터 리사주형태의 여러 가지 주기적 궤적을 암실에서 만든다. 그리고 정전기적 이온결정으로 이루어진 화합물의 편광이미지와 함께 만다라를 그린다. 중력과 전기력은 각각 상호작용하는 자연계의 기본적인 힘으로서 만다라를 구성하는 배경이 된다. 만다라는 고대 인도의 범어에서 나타나며 주로 상징주의 철학과 신비주의적 특징을 가진 인도종교의 밀교적용어로 사용되었다. 만다라는 원안에 그림을 그리는 과정을 통해 삶의 구조와 본질을 알아내고 그것을 원만하게 만드는 것으로 정의한다. 이러한 과정들을 통해서 우리 모두는 일체임을 인지하고, 무의식과 의식 사이에서 불안정하게 살아가는 현대인들에게 마음의 안정감과 심리적 균형을 찾아 주고 싶다.

 

Creation and annihilation of the universe was expressed photographically, through mandala made with trajectories of conical pendulum with its periodic movements. Mandala is found in ancient Indian Sanskrit and was mainly used as an esoteric language of Indian Buddhism that contains symbolic philosophies and features of mysticism. By drawing within a circle, Mandala signifies the search for structure and essence of the universe and their harmonization. Moreover, intentions were to give peace of mind to contemporary persons, who live complicated lives both physically and psychologically, by creating trajectories of various periodic movements into the form of mandala, which are expressed by the initial velocity and changing vertical angle of the pendulum.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

작가 약력

박정일은 경북대학교 대학원에서 응집물질물리학이론으로 박사를 하고, 나노물리 연구실에서 반도체 내의 전자의 양자 수송을 연구하고 있다. 경일대학교 사진영상학과 대학원에서 순수사진을 공부하고 있으며, 변화하는 모든 자연과 사회현상에 관심을 가지고 기록하고 있다. 2019년 Hong Kong 시위현장의 기록을 전시하였다.
